Stop Foot Pain & Discomfort With Help From Apex Podiatry & Foot Clinic

General Podiatry Treatments:

Thickened and/or discoloured nails
Fungal nails
Ingrown toenails
Corns
Callous, including dry and cracked heals
Planter warts
Tinea

Diabetic Foot Assessments:

Diabetic assessments are performed to detect and monitor any issues that could put the foot at risk.

The assessment involves:

Vascular studies using a Doppler Ultrasound machine
Nerve function testing
Assessment of skin and nail conditions
Assessment of bone, joint and muscle function
Diabetic foot care education

Podiatry plays an important role in the management of Diabetic foot health and the prevention of complications such as ulcerations and amputation.

Ingrown Toenails And Nail Surgery:

Ingrown toenails are one of the most common conditions treated at our clinic. Ingrown toenails should be treated as quickly as possible to avoid infection occurring. In persistent cases a minor surgical procedure known as a Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA) is available to permanently remove a portion of the toenail under local anaesthetic.

Biomechanical Assessments:

A biomechanical assessment looks at how the foot and body function during movement. The assessment involves a gait analysis where your body’s movements are observed, measured, recorded and assessed.

Depending on the outcome, you may be prescribed stretching and/or strengthening exercises, strapping or footwear advice.

Workers Compensation:

We accept patients for Podiatry care who have been injured at work and are under a case worker for workers compensation.

Medicare:

If you are eligible, your GP can refer you for podiatry treatment under a Chronic Disease Management Plan.

The Chronic Disease Management Plan will allow you to receive a rebate from Medicare for up to 5 visits per calendar year to Allied Health Professionals.

DVA:

The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) allows gold card holders and some white card holders to have access to Podiatry care.

You will need to have a current DVA Referral (D904 form) from your GP made out to Apex Podiatry and Foot Clinic. The referral is valid for a period of 1 year.

Home Care Providers:

You can access our services through your Home Care Provider. You will need to speak with your Home Care Provider for more information.

The Home Care Provider will need to provide written confirmation addressed to Apex Podiatry and Foot Clinic confirming they will cover the cost of the Podiatry treatment provided.
